Nail Treatment queries

  • How long is a treatment, and how long does it last for?
  • Treatment times vary depending on your requirements, i.e. manicure, pedicure, nail enhancements. I can advise you on an estimated time upon booking an appointment or assessment.
  • A manicure/pedicure can last from a week up to a month. This is really dependant on how well you look after your nails already. Enhancements depends on the rate of growth of your nail, so this treatment could last from 2-3 weeks.
  • What is involved upon receiving a treatment?
  • I will come to your home or place of work, where a table and 2 chairs will be required. I will then need to consult you which involves filling out a card or form. Once this is filled in, I will then assess your nails, and continue with treatment.
  • Manicures and pedicures
This involves filing, shaping and buffing the nail and cleaning up the cuticles. I usually use an exfoliating scrub on both hands and feet to soften the skin. For feet I usually use a foot file to file off any roughened skin; and a foot mask treatment.
  • Nail enhancements
Before I apply nail enhancements, a mini manicure may be required. A nail enhancement is the process of applying a tip to the nail, and then applying a gel or acrylic treatment to strengthen or hold the tip in place over a longer period of time i.e.. 2-3 weeks. Sculpted nails eliminates the process of having a tip applied to the nail, and involves the sculpting of the acrylic or gel onto a form to create an elongated free edge. The free edge is the whiter bit at the end of your nail.
  • How do I cancel an appointment?
  • Please reschedule / cancel appointments 24 (minimum) hours before your appointment.
  • How much does a treatment cost?
  • I will quote you on email or telephonically on costs, as this depends on the treatment(s) you require. The minimum treatment cost is usually £15 (manicure/pedicure) followed by transport fee. However discount prices are given to students and the unemployed. Proof is required upon visit.
  • How will I feel after a treatment?
  • The treatments are very relaxing and require patience as it takes time and effort to make your hands and feet look beautiful.

Knowledge box:
Healthy nails are a good indicator of your health and wellbeing. It also shows how much you take care of yourself. The more you use your hands and immerse them in chemicals and detergents, without the use of gloves – the more this will damage your nails in the long run.
NB – If you suffer a nail infection, it is important to seek treatment in the early stages as this will become very painful, and will also destroy the nail and nail bed. If your nail enhancements start to turn yellow – make an appointment to see your nail tech immediately to remove the product. Once done, she will then advise you to see your GP for treatment if required.
