Why should I take care of my nails?
Biting nails is unhygienic. There are more germs/bacteria on your hands and nails than there are on a toilet seat. This also encourages infections around the nail and cold sores in your mouth.
How does a manicure improve my nails?
Manicures improve the health and the state of the nails – by conditioning the hands and nails, cleaning up cuticles and improving the blood circulation to the nail. Regular manicures will not only strengthen your nails but make them look really good too.
What is a nail enhancement?
A nail enhancement is exactly that, it enhances the look of your nails. A nail enhancement is usually comprised of a plastic tip that lengthens the nail and then is reinforced by a gel or acrylic product to strengthen it and make the enhancement last longer. Alternatively, you may get a sculpted nail (which is the lengthening of the tip with the product used, and not a plastic tip) or an overlay i.e. A product that is is laid over the entire length of your nail to strengthen a nail.
Why would I want to get a nail enhancement?
Well, why would you wear make-up? To look like a Goddess of course! There may be many other reasons as to why you would, for example – you might be a nail-biter, or pick around your nails. You might just want some beautiful nails for your wedding or a party that you are going to. Nails have and still are becoming the Bling Bling of fashion accessories! Still looking for another reason? Does your man love long nails? Most men do.
Don't nail enhancements look false?
With all the technology that goes into nails today, it is easy to make your nails as natural as they were before. However, having nail art or a french manicured look really makes them stand out too – and you'll be amazed how people will admire them from far off!
What other terms are used for nail enhancements?
Nail extensions or false nails. Most nail techs use the terms "nail enhancement" or "nail extension" when advertising their nails.
What is required to get nail enhancements?
You would need to book an appointment with me, where I would assess your nails and consult you further. There is a possibility that you will require a mini manicure before the nail enhancements are applied.

Healthy nails are a good indicator of your health and wellbeing. It also shows how much you take care of yourself. The more you use your hands and immerse them in chemicals and detergents, without the use of gloves – the more this will damage your nails in the long run.

NB – If you suffer a nail infection, it is important to seek treatment in the early stages as this will become very painful, and will also destroy the nail and nail bed. If your nail enhancements start to turn yellow – make an appointment to see your nail tech immediately to remove the product. Once done, she will then advise you to see your GP for treatment if required.
