Treatment After-care and maintenance for nails:

How to look after, treat and care for your nails after treatment

  1. To maintain your nail enhancements, I would advise to return every 2-3 weeks for an infill and rebalance, and to keep your nails in tip top condition.
  2. Your nails should be treated like jewels and I would not advise to use your nails to open doors, canned drinks, dial on the telephone etc.
  3. Avoid pulling, biting, tearing or picking off your enhancements as this will cause damage to your natural nails.
  4. Wear gloves when washing dishes, gardening or working with any chemicals or detergents.
  5. Tinted lotions, suntan creams and hair products can discolour your enhancements so wash your hands thoroughly after use or use gloves to protect them.
  6. Please massage cuticle oil everyday to keep your nails looking good and to nourish the natural nail underneath. Also remember to push back cuticles once a week.
  7. Always make sure that you push back your cuticles with an orange or hoof stick.
  8. Use a non-acetone polish remover for nail enhancements to remove nail polish.
  9. Please contact me to remove your enhancements if you no longer desire them.

Natural nail after-care and maintenance.

  • Always make sure that you push back your cuticles with a non-metallic hoof stick to avoid damaging cuticles.
  • Ensure you have regular manicures/pedicures to improve nail growth and to keep your hands or feet in tip top condition.
  • Do not use your nails to open doors, canned drinks, dial on the telephone etc.
  • Avoid pulling, biting, tearing or picking your nails, or the skin around them as this damages your cuticles and natural nails which can cause further infections.

Knowledge box:
Healthy nails are a good indicator of your health and wellbeing. It also shows how much you take care of yourself. The more you use your hands and immerse them in chemicals and detergents, without the use of gloves – the more this will damage your nails in the long run.
NB – If you suffer a nail infection, it is important to seek treatment in the early stages as this will become very painful, and will also destroy the nail and nail bed. If your nail enhancements start to turn yellow – make an appointment to see your nail tech immediately to remove the product. Once done, she will then advise you to see your GP for treatment if required.
